Gold Coast Airport

The Gold Coast, on Australia’s central east coast, is known for long sandy beaches, theme parks and an iconic lifestyle that makes it Australia’s premier tourist destination. So it’s not surprising that its airport is at capacity.

With passenger numbers expected to increase considerably over the next decade, the airport needs to be bigger, better and more efficient.

This future passenger growth is at the heart of our design for Project LIFT, a multi-million dollar airport expansion project. A new and improved three-level terminal will include sustainability initiatives, new aerobridges, and a swing gate system for better international and domestic flexibility.

As a first impression, the new three-level terminal will showcase the best of the Gold Coast. People can meet, dine and relax at the premium retail and dining facilities and new departure lounges – plus a VIP Room.

The less exciting parts of travel will also be enhanced. A new Boarding Zone with queueing space, airline boarding desks and seating means a faster, simpler start to outbound journeys. And for those arriving, it’s an efficient journey through passport control, baggage handling to carparks or public transport – and on to the beach in no time.

The forecasts for passenger growth at Gold Coast Airport are exciting. With almost seven million passengers expected next year, the airport and the region will benefit from this development for years to come.”
