Uganda’s Bidi Bidi Music Centre for refugees
Designed to change preconceptions around refugees in Uganda, the Bidi Bidi Music & Arts Centre will provide a recording studio, spaces for music training and a community meeting space for a settlement of over 270,000 South Sudanese refugees.
Together with creative foundation To.org and design and build collaborative LocalWorks we’ve created a sheltered, open-air amphi-theatre, which will be built from compressed earth blocks crafted from material excavated on the site. The build, which will include a tree nursery, vegetable garden and freshwater facilities is due to commence this April.
