Burswood Park set for 20-year plan

The Burswood Peninsula 20-year masterplan by Hassell has been released. Earmarked for three distinct precincts the proposed plan includes an outdoor amphitheatre accommodating more than 10,000 people and landscapes to reflect the Whadjuk Noongar region.

First Light Pavilion shortlisted for UK AJ Architecture Awards

This week, nearly 140 projects have been shortlisted across 21 categories for this year’s AJ Architecture Awards, the annual showcase of the very best built projects in the UK. Hassell’s First Light Pavilion at Jodrell Bank Observatory has been shortlisted in the Cultural category amongst leading arts and visitor centres. New architectural film inspired by Wes Anderson celebrates Singapore’s built environment

Hassell’s GSK Asia House features in a new architectural documentary “A Wes Anderson-ish Singapore (Volume 2)” showcasing Singapore’s fusion of urbanity meets tropical retreat. Documentary director Kevin Siyuan draws inspiration from the visual style of acclaimed filmmaker Wes Anderson, known for films like “Asteroid City” and “The Grand Budapest Hotel,” to chronicle the city and landscape of Singapore. London Design Biennale opens

London Design Biennale has opened at Somerset House. Amongst more than 40 installations, the biennale has dedicated a pavilion to the Bidi Bidi Music & Arts Centre in Uganda’s Bidi Bidi refugee settlement. The project is developed by to.org and designed by Hassell in partnership with Arup. Upon completion, the centre will provide space for creative expression, training, and performance in Africa’s largest refugee settlement, currently the home of over 270,000 refugees who have fled violence in neighbouring South Sudan.
