Sydney’s W Hotel opens in The Ribbon

Wedged between twin motorways whizzing by Darling Harbour, The Ribbon is an enigma in the Sydney cityscape. “There are only a few places in the world where you would attempt to build this,” said Stephen Crawley, co-founder of London studio BJB who crafted the hotel’s interiors, appraising the eclectic building by Hassell architects on a recent morning. “The inside has to deliver to the same magnitude as the outside,” he added. Bindi Bindi Place: Brisbane’s first specialist care centre for vulnerable children

One community organisation, Communify, is on a mission to build Brisbane’s first high-quality, multidisciplinary specialist care centre for children under six. Di Stasio Città named as one of Melbourne’s beloved Italian restaurants

According to Concrete Playground, “it’s hard to talk about Di Stasio Città without mentioning its grand modernist design. It feels more like a contemporary gallery than a restaurant, with high concrete-clad walls, minimal furnishings, and white videos projected onto the walls. At the same time, Italian music from the 60s plays in the background. It’s a brilliant backdrop for the consumption of pasta.” View the project.
