Ilma’s role as a Hassell principal is unique – and important. Having recently relocated to Brisbane after spending nearly two decades in Shanghai, she focuses on how to strengthen our global community of leaders, ensuring we’re better connected, supported and prepared to lead the practice into the future. 

An interior designer for more than 20 years, she brings valuable perspective to the role, with her complete grasp of the design process and the day-to-day interactions of our teams. 

With a career spanning different international markets, Ilma also understands the opportunities and challenges we face communicating across global locations, including the rich results we can achieve with a culturally diverse team.

Ultimately, Ilma wants to continue building a healthy, creative environment where our varied skills, backgrounds and experiences are valued – so our talented designers and strategic thinkers can do their best work each day.
