Darren Cartlidge
“Truly great projects excite the senses and form memories which draw you back. Our pursuit of sustainable design also emboldens investors and forms lasting partnerships.”
Darren Cartlidge is an architect with three decades of professional experience and a deep understanding of the markets and clients across Asia. He brings a wealth of diverse project design expertise and considerable experience in senior leadership roles across business, operations and project management in the UK, Middle East and Asia-Pacific to his role as Regional Leader at Hassell.
Darren is most passionate about the ability for design to make people’s everyday lives better, especially through transport-oriented developments and believes that the great disruptions facing the world also present great opportunities which can drive the design process in a new direction.
Over his career, Darren has played a key role in winning work and leading large and complex projects— including infrastructure and high-density mixed-use urban developments comprising retail, residential and commercial towers — and is admired for his strong leadership, commercial management and exceptional design outcomes. He seeks to add value wherever possible by uncovering the unexpected and unique components which surprise and enliven a design, ultimately delivering commercially successful projects.
Some of the most notable projects Darren has worked on include Landmark 81 in Ho Chi Minh City, Jewel at Singapore’s Changi Airport, Kowloon Station and Kowloon Development in Hong Kong, Home Office Headquarters in London and most recently, Tung Chung West Station in Hong Kong.
