Annabel Koeck

What we do materialises into the buildings and cities where people live their lives. That’s a big responsibility. If something’s not working, we can come up with a better way. We can change the rules to build better.”

Annabel brings over 15 years of experience working in Australia, the Middle East and Europe leading high-profile design projects including complex mixed-use and commercial developments.

As communities densify, Annabel thrives finding solutions to complex design challenges that can arise from balancing state infrastructure needs with commercial pressures and community insights, creating places that bring people joy.

Annabel is passionate about architecture for the public good. She is a founding director of Scalerule.org, a community interest company striving to increase access to the built environment. She is also recognised as a thought leader on the circular economy, having led research funded by the EU on the reuse of timber from demolition sites and delivering an innovative off-grid visitor centre in London.

Annabel is a member of the AIA Gender Equity Task Force and a director of the Peer 20 Women in Property Network. She has been a committee member for the British Council for Offices and contributed to architectural discourse through articles on modernism and the curtain wall.
