Documentary dives beneath Sydney’s Metro

Curious about the process of designing, building, and delivering Sydney’s largest public transport project?

A new four-part documentary on SBS will go deep underground to follow the designers and engineers who worked on Sydney’s Metro North West, and explore the complex engineering and design challenges that come with rail design.

The new rail line in the city’s northwest is part of the largest public transport project the country has ever seen. In 2024, Sydney will have 31 stations and a 66-kilometre standalone metro line. For this first stage of Metro North West we designed eight new stations and precincts and upgraded five existing ones.

The project was also recently recognised at the 2020 NSW Architecture Awards, taking out the top Urban Design award - the Lloyd Rees Award for Urban Design.

The world première of the four-part documentary will air on Wednesday 12 August at 8:30pm across SBS Australia.
