Optus Stadium receives Prix Versailles World Title recognition
The winners of the Prix Versailles 2019 have been announced, with Optus Stadium taking out the 2019 World Title in Sports.
The prestigious international award recognises and celebrates commercial architecture from around the world, judged by an independent panel that included a mixture of renowned architects, designers, and prolific figures in the Arts.
Optus Stadium, a collaboration between Hassell, Cox and HKS, was the Sporting standout among other entries from the United States, Russia, Colombia, China, and Iraq.
Hassell Principal Peter Dean said that winning this Prix Versailles award reflects the success of having a shared client vision in delivering a fans-first stadium, and creating 365 day experience that has redefined Perth.
“Optus Stadium is a landmark project that successfully changed the way fans experience sporting and entertainments events. This international award is a testament to the hard work of our design team, our project partners, and our talented collaborators from the Whadjuk indigenous community, who worked diligently on creating something truly spectacular.” Peter said.
All nine award winners will come together at the UNESCO Headquarters, Paris, in September 2019 for the Prix Versailles World Ceremony.
