Hassell joins Architects with Pride

A glittering Mardi Gras float, industry experts talking Queer Careers and an Architects Ball are just some of the events we’re supporting as part of 2023 World Pride, a global LGBTIQ+ festival, which this year is being hosted in Sydney, Australia between 17 February - 5 March.

It’s World Pride in Sydney — the first time this global festival has been hosted in the southern hemisphere — and to celebrate, we’re teaming up with Architects with Pride, which brings together the LGBTIQ+ communities of our built environment to support an inclusive and collaborate programme of experiences and events.

Together with Architects with Pride, team members from Hassell will be walking in the official Mardis Gras parade, which will be returning to Sydney’s Oxford Street on February 25. Other highlights of the Architects with Pride programme, which will be part of over 300 events during the 16-day global festival, include Love Letters to Queer Space, a series of Pecha-Kucha style presentations by 16 emerging queer designers and Working Queer in the Built Environment, a panel discussion featuring industry experts including design editor of The Australian Financial Review, Stephen Todd and interior designer, Brahman Perrera.

We’re really proud to be taking part in this event and to celebrate the coming together of the LGBTIQ+ community across the world to listen, learn, and have unified conversations around diversity in all its forms — and ensure greater inclusivity for everyone.”
