As part of the second World AI Conference, held in Shanghai, Hassell Principal Robert Price joined other industry leaders to discuss how technology helps create more efficient workplaces, and at the same time, how we cope with the disruption it creates.
The session, titled ‘AI Enabling Intelligent Architecture’, focused on intelligent solutions developed specifically for managing properties and how designers can inform the flourishing development of technology from a human-centric perspective.
Alongside Robert, the panel included Ivan Wan, VP from Tencent Cloud, Wenwei Gao, VP from Donghao Lansheng Group, Huimin Wang, Vice Chairman from China Property Industry Institute and Xugang Ma, President from Pengans Technology. Truddy Cheung, Head of Workplace Advisory at Colliers International Asia, delivered a talk on the Next Generation Workplace right before the panel.
“It’s important to engage workplace designers at earlier stages of developing intelligent solutions for properties, because the full potential of technology can’t be tapped without incorporating the human experience into the design,” Robert said during the panel.
“Sensor technology and big data has enabled designers to leverage AI in creating workplaces that are proven to be more efficient,” Robert said.
The World AI Conference is an annual event gathering some of the most progressive products and companies from around the globe. This year, the opening day of the event featured a lively debate between Jack Ma, the founder of Alibaba, and Elon Musk, founder and CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, about the risks and potential rewards associated with artificial intelligence and also touching on a broad range of topics such as Mars exploration and workplace culture.
