A boardwalk along the river’s edge, trails for art and sculpture exhibitions, and a 10,000 patron outdoor amphitheatre - they’re all part of the recently released concept for the first stage of the Burswood Park Master Plan in Perth, Australia.
Led by Hassell, the 15-year program for the waterfront parkland features a re-modelled pathway network, riverside gardens, and public spaces that will continue to host a vibrant calendar of events – including the WA Day Festival which attracts over 120,000 people.
Recently released design details include a 400m boardwalk along the river’s edge, trails for art and sculpture exhibitions, a 10,000 patron outdoor amphitheatre, and over 2,000 trees many as part of an expansive urban forest.
The released concept plan outlines a clear design direction:
one park, three precincts.
