Design competition win for Parramatta encourages community connection

Our mixed-use concept for 110 George Street in Parramatta, Australia that creates new public space and connects the community has won a City of Parramatta design excellence competition.

Located near the Parramatta River on Dharug Country, on a two-sided site between George Street and Phillip Street in the Parramatta CBD, the winning two-tower design spans a 7097 sqm site and consists of a residential tower with a mix of 400 apartments including build-to-rent options and a commercial tower comprising 44,000 sqm of premium office space, co-working and dining offerings and 2165 sqm of retail tenancies.

The precinct will include a neighbourhood square, a landscaped thoroughfare to the east of the precinct and additional laneways to further open the site and connect it to Phillip Street and George Street.

Tony Grist, Principal in our Sydney studio, notes the commercial and residential towers were designed to work together and activate the space between them.
