帮助解决中国的城市发展问题
在过去的几十年里，中国经历了快速的城市化发展。数以百万计的人从农村涌进城市，令城市越来越大且拥挤。
城市化的进程为中国带来的巨大的社会、环境和对基础设施的影响。许多问题需要通过城市规划和设计加以解决，以确保中国一个拥有可持续发展的未来。HASSELL在中国发展已经超过20年，并曾参与过许多重要的城市发展项目。
近期三个尝试解决中国各种城市设计问题的项目包括了深圳保障房设计竞赛、宁波东钱湖岛筑岛方案设计和天津滨海交通枢纽项目。
深圳保障房设计竞赛的解决方案，安置城市的巨大的短暂的工作人口，包括很大比例的年轻人，特别是单身女性。这个城市所剩下的土地越来越少，必须用有限的土地来应付未来的人口增长。我们方案的想法，涉及到三个尺度的思考 - 1个单位，100个家庭和10000个人。
HASSELL计划采用“互惠生活”的概念，使人们能够互动和交流彼此的经验以及空间，发展一个更社区精神的社区。这个构思贯彻到本项目的三个不同尺度方案中。
HASSELL也参与在东钱湖的筑岛开发和设计。东钱湖周围一些地块的开发使用很容易对环境产生影响，也可能会污染水道和湖中的鱼类。HASSELL的设计方案旨在建立一个更可持续发展的旅游概念，尽量在不影响东钱湖水质和周边环境与居民的情况下发展旅游业。
天津是中国最大的城市之一，并正在迅速扩大。因此天津滨海交通枢枢纽规划整合了一条高速铁路线、三条地铁线、本地公交与区间客运以及往市区的出租车等交通服务。
HASSELL的项目设计目标关注在将这些不同的服务区块作无缝的整合连接；空间处理策略包含了优化广场上下的串联、为旅客到达点提供更开阔的视线同时透过一系列的空间模拟来确定所提出的人流规划路线将更舒适有效率。
深圳保障房设计竞赛、东钱湖人工筑岛方案和天津滨海交通枢纽已入围本周（10月3日至5日）在新加坡举行的世界建筑节的大奖。
